Town Board

The Town Board department in a rural district council is the local governing body. They:

  • Make local rules and plans.
  • Manage the town’s day-to-day operations.
  • Handle the town’s money.
  • Represent the people who live there.
  • Plan for the town’s future.
  • Ensure local rules are followed.
  • Oversee local services.

Essentially, they’re responsible for running the town and making sure it meets the needs of its residents.
